A FLEXIBLE AND PROVEN SHORE POWER SOLUTION
How it works
The patent-pending Watts Marine Shore Power System consists of proprietary equipment which has been developed for the specific purpose of serving the cruise ship industry. This equipment includes dual-voltage electrical service equipment; custom-developed electrical cable handling equipment, and unique electronic monitoring and control equipment.
A cruise ship or ocean transport vessel equipped to receive shore power docks in port.
The shore-side operator selects the ship to be connected from the database in our uniquely designed automation system, which determines the proper operating parameters
Protection relays and redundant safety systems ensure the safety of the ship and shore electrical systems.
All of the ship’s systems are now run on shore electricity instead of its diesel engines, virtually eliminating fuel emissions from the ship while it is in port.
Daily connection reports are generated with key metrics for each shore power connection, including KWH (kilowatt hours) of energy consumed, connection start and stop times, and ship name and brand. Watts Marine also calculates the total reduction of released pollutants while a ship is connected to Shore Power.
